Maserati introduced its Sebring model in 1962. The Sebring was styled by Vignale of Italy and featured a trendy four headlamp nose. The wheelbase of this pretty coupe allowed room for four seats and the interior must have benefited from the air-conditioning unit which was available as an extra.

Standard specification also included a five speed gearbox, disc brakes and fuel injection for the straight six engine. Options included a limited slip-diff' and automatic transmission. The Series I cars used a 3485cc engine to start with which offered plenty of power. The Sebring Series I finished in 1965 to make way for the Series II model.

Specific History: A complete provenance is being conducted in association with Maserati NA & Italia. This is a result of the fact that little is known about the early years of 01563's life. What is known is that it was acquired by Maserati collector Eugene O'Gorman in 1983 in fine original condition. The Maserati was maintained in original running order, and driven regularly by Gene. In 2000, Gene decided to go through the car for a bit of freshening up. It was hand stripped and painted silver from its previous metallic gray. new rubber and cosmetic pieces were fitted as needed. Gene maintains an extensive stock of original factory parts, which have been acquired over thirty years of Maserati collecting. This has allowed for all maintenance to be conducted in-house as needed over this period of ownership. In consequence, 01563 has been kept in very original condition. The intensity of its original performance characteristics has been maintained through its fully operational fuel injection system. 01563 was privately offered to KPG Motors in the summer of 2005.
